Infinity Pools

The infinity pool represents the absolute pinnacle of luxury water engineering

What we do

Art of Perfect Architectural Balance

An infinity pool is not merely a place to swim—it is a visual transformation of your entire property. Traditional pools lock the water within a frame, but a vanishing edge draws the eye outward, expanding the perceived footprint of your backyard and pulling the surrounding landscape directly into your living space.

Achieving this seamless illusion requires far more than basic pool construction; it requires an artistic understanding of sightlines. We meticulously calculate the exact levels of your home’s alfresco, deck, and interior viewing angles. This ensures that whether you are standing in the kitchen or lounging by the pool, the water’s edge disappears perfectly against the horizon, creating a dramatic, resort-style ambience that defines your home.

Quality in Everything We Do

Premium Concrete Pool Design
and Renovations

Millimeter-Perfect Levels

The success of an infinity edge rests on a knife-edge. If the pool wall varies by even two millimetres, the water will pour unevenly, breaking the illusion. We utilise advanced digital levelling technology during the concrete pour to guarantee a perfectly horizontal weir wall, ensuring a flawless, uniform spillway.

Invisible Water Management

Behind the beauty lies complex water management. Below the vanishing edge sits a hidden concrete balance tank or catchment channel. We engineer high-spec, variable-speed hydraulic surge systems that silently collect, filter, heat, and return the overflow water to the main pool without a drop wasted.

Engineered Against the Elements

Infinity pools are frequently built on slopes or elevated positions to capture views, exposing them to unique structural stresses. Our concrete shells feature massive, custom-braced engineering footings and heavy-duty steel cages designed to anchored the pool permanently to the terrain, resisting soil movement.

Built Like its Our Own Pool

Stunning At Every Angle

Because infinity pools involve complex physics and hydraulic balance, they cannot be left to low-tier subcontractors or corporate sales companies. At Ocean Blu, our director, Jason Lardi, personally commands the site layout, level calculation, and structural pour from day one. We build your pool with the exact same unyielding integrity we would demand for our own family home, refusing to cut corners on steel density or curing times. Jason’s hands-on quality control guarantees a structurally flawless, perfectly balanced masterpiece that operates seamlessly for decades.

FAQ’s

Frequently asked questions

An infinity pool features one or more walls that are built slightly lower than the main water level (called the weir edge). Water continuously flows over this lowered edge, creating the illusion of a vanishing boundary. The overflowing water drops into a hidden catch-basin or balance tank located directly below the wall. From there, a specialized, high-volume hydraulic pump pulls the water through a filtration and heating system, pumping it back into the main pool in a silent, continuous loop.

Because the water is constantly moving over an exposed spillway wall, infinity pools do experience slightly higher evaporation rates than traditional pools, especially on windy days. However, no water is wasted or lost down the drain; the system is completely enclosed, and all water that falls into the catchment channel is recycled. To minimize evaporation and energy loss when the pool isn’t in use, we can design the system to turn off the overflow feature automatically via your smartphone or prime it to work in conjunction with a hidden pool cover.

While infinity pools are incredibly popular on sloping blocks or properties overlooking a valley, ocean, or park, they are not strictly limited to hillsides. We can create what is known as a “perimeter overflow” or flush-deck infinity pool on a completely flat, urban block. In this configuration, the water overflows on all four sides into a minimalist slot built directly into the surrounding stone paving, creating a spectacular, mirror-like glass sheet effect in the middle of a courtyard.

The maintenance of the water itself is identical to a standard pool, but the system does require a few extra mechanical checks. The hidden catchment basin must be kept clear of leaves and debris, and the electronic water-level sensors (which automatically top up the pool when evaporation occurs) must be kept clean. We equip all our infinity builds with premium, automated self-cleaning filters and smart chemical dosing systems to ensure that managing the hydraulics is completely effortless for your family.
